Sound Proofing and Acoustic Treatment in Electronic city, Bangalore.

Acoustic Treatment, Soundproofing and False Ceiling was carried out for a Conference room in Electronic city, Bangalore. The Process involved creating a Conference room in an open space. We had to address two aspects while designing and fabricating the conference room i.e. Soundproofing and Acoustic Treatment.

Project Specifications:
Soundproofing Area: 1900 Sft
Acoustic Treatment Area: 1600 Sft
False Ceiling Area: 1320 Sft
Size of the room: 55 ft x 24 ft

After the completion of Soundproofing and Acoustic Treatment of walls, the next process involved the Treatment of Ceiling. The False ceiling comprised of a combination of Gypsum Boards False Ceiling and Grid Ceiling.

The sides and Center Portion of the Conference room had Gypsum Board false ceiling mainly comprising of fixing 12.5 mm thick Saint Gobain Gyproc Gypsum Board suspended on a G.I framework of Make JITEX. The G.I framework consisted of Ceiling Sections, Intermediate Channels, Perimeter sections and Ceiling L – Angles. After the installation of boards, the Joints were covered with a layer of Saint Gobain Gyproc Jointing Tape and Jointing Compound. This not only helped in creating Two levels but also to help us in hiding the A.C Ducts.

The remaining area was covered with T – Grid False Ceiling. The process involved in creating a 600mm x 600mm modular structure comprising of 24mm T – Grid suspension system of make JITEX. The components involved 10ft Main T, 2ft Cross T section, 4ft Cross T section and Perimeter Wall angle. After the channels were installed, 12mm Thick JITEX Mineral Fiber Acoustic ceiling tile of size 595mm x 595mm were layed on to the channel. Thus, helping us achieve an N.R.C of 0.60 from the False Ceiling.
