Applications of Gyproc Pro Top Ready Mix Jointing Compound
False Ceiling & Partitions
Saint Gobain Gyproc Pro Top Ready Mix Jointing compound is used as a setting powder for joint finishing in Drywall Partitions and False Ceiling. After the installation of Gypsum Boards, the joints between each board is covered with a layer of Jointing tape and finished off with 2-3 layers of Pro-Top Ready Mix Jointing compound. This process helps in acquiring a smooth and seamless finish between each board.
Process of Jointing & Finishing
1st COAT
Using an applicator, fill the Edge recess formed of the Gypsum sheets with Gyproc Pro Top Ready Mix Jointing Compound. Centre the Jointing tape or Paper Tape along the joint and using a Trowel, press the tape down into the Gyproc Pro Top Ready Mix Jointing Compound. Ensure no air bubbles remain behind the Jointing tape. Immediately apply a thin coat of Gyproc Pro Top Ready Mix Jointing Compound over the surface of the tape and allow it to dry.
2nd COAT
Apply a second coat of Gyproc Pro Top Ready Mix Jointing Compound. Ensure that the 2nd coat extends outside the area of the first coat i.e. 200 – 250 mm wide. Allow the 2nd coat to thoroughly dry.
3rd COAT
Apply a final finishing coat of Gyproc Pro Top Ready Mix Set Jointing Compound with an Applicator. The Joint edges should be feathered by at least 50 mm beyond the edges of the previous coat. Allow it to dry and lightly sand in the same direction using a sandpaper.
