PET Polyester Acoustic Panels

Acoustic treatment is the process of controlling sound reflections within a room. Acoustic treatment lessens the effect of undesirable Echo and Noise in order to improve the clarity and quality of the sound. Good Acoustic treatment can be achieved by using Tacet Polyester PET Acoustic Panel.

PET Polyester Acoustic Panel is made using recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles, dyes, and Eco-Friendly adhesives.

You can use glue such as spray glue, hot melt adhesive, glass glue or any other glue (mainly depends on surface to surface). On flat concrete walls, the PET polyester acoustic panel can be glued using white glue and gun nails. On Plywood or Gypsum Board, Fevicol SR is a good adhesive.

Mechanical blades are highly recommended as the cuts on PET polyester Acoustic Panel will be precise with better joint finish. However, the Panels can also be cut using high quality Hand held blades and steel rule.

Traditional Acoustic treatment process for Home theaters involve Channel, Insulation materiel such as Fiber glass, Mineral Rock wool or Poly wool with Wood wool Board. The wood wool board can be further finished with fabric or Spray Paint. However, this process is a little expensive when compared to PET Polyester Acoustic Panel but results in excellent Acoustic Treatment.

In case of an economical option is required, PET polyester Acoustic Panel can be directly installed on to the wall. However, Acoustic Treatment would be decreased by 10 to 15 % when compared to the first option.

No. Soundproofing and Acoustic Treatment are two different segments. Acoustic Treatment is the process of eliminating any form of Noise and Echo present in the room. It make the Sound more crisp and clear. Whereas, soundproofing is the process of preventing the sound from traveling between two rooms. The process involves creating a barrier in order to reflect the sound from passing through the walls. We have soundproofing such as Magnesium oxide board (MgO Sound proof Board), Mineral Rock wool insulation etc.

Firstly, there will be no color variations if the Acoustic Panels are from one particular batch. Secondly, Polyester PET Acoustic Panels have a front and back side; and the texture is different because of the fibers being oriented differently. Keep in mind to install the panels in the same direction with the same side to avoid any color and texture difference in the appearance.

However, there will be slight color variations if the Polyester PET Acoustic panels are from a different batch. Thus, please do make sure that all the panels purchased are from one particular batch; and as a precautionary measure, purchasing one or two extra panels is always recommended.

The Process of installing PET Polyester Acoustic Panel on the ceiling is same as Wall Paneling. However, as the Level and undulation might be higher in the ceiling when compared to wall, it is recommended to install a framework with a Plywood backing. This will help in achieving consistency in the level and will ensure a rich finish between the joints of two Acoustic Panels.

However, the first process can be a little expensive. A cheaper option is to install a 2ft x 2ft modular T-Grid Suspension system. The Polyester Panels can then be cut in to the size of 595mm x 595mm and be placed on to the framework. The option is not only economical but also proves to be beneficial in terms of Maintenance. The tiles can be removed and placed whenever needed in the future without any hassles. Also, in terms of aesthetics, the Acoustic Panels can be placed in different patterns such as Chess board etc.
