Acoustic Treatment for a Theater in Whitefield, Bangalore

Acoustic Treatment was carried out on the walls using a 6 layer system consisting of wood wool board and Polyester Wadding (Polywool) as the primary and secondary Acoustic material. The process involved a basic framework of G.I Partition channels with Gasket tape, Polywool insulation foam, Acoustic Wood wool Board, PVC Fabric gripper track System,PU foam and Polyester Fabric. The design revolved around a criss-cross pattern. The main color was red and the lines were highlighted with Black in order to give a contrast effect. With good ambient lighting, the design and fabric colors portrayed a classic Theatrical outlook. All in all, the theater was designed and executed in a way which gave equal importance to both Acoustic Treatment and Aesthetics.

The False Ceiling mainly comprised of a T-Grid false ceiling in the center with Gypsum Board false ceiling on the sides. The center area consisted of 24mm thick T-grid suspension system with wood wool Acoustic Tile. The Wood wool Tiles were spray painted in to Black color to create a dark atmosphere.

However, to improve the ambient lighting, the false ceiling on the sides comprised of a Gypsum board system with Cove Lighting. This process, although being very simple, perfectly complimented with the walls and enhanced the Acoustics of the room.
