Acoustic Wall Paneling
The Process of Acoustic Treatment for the walls comprised a 6 layer system consisting of Acoustic wood wool board finished with Fabric. The first step involved the installation of a 50mm Thick G.I Partition framework comprising of Floor and C-Stud Channels. An infill of 50mm Thickness Mineral Rockwool insulation – 48 KG Density / m3 was installed in the hollow areas in between the Partition channels. Further to this, 18mm Thick Wood wool Board, (Acoustic Panel) was fixed on to the Partition channels with 1.5 Inch Self Drilling Screws and the Acoustic Boards were finished with 12mm Thick PVC Fabric gripper, 20mm PU foam and Polyester Fabric.
The total thickness of the 6 Layer acoustic treatment process was 80mm thick and divided into Two Sections. The first section comprised of three horizontal panels with an height of 1ft which were placed on the top. center and bottom portion of all three Acoustic walls. In between these horizontal Acoustic panels, smaller rectangular boxes of size 3 feet x 8 Inches were installed. The 1 feet Acoustic Panels were covered with Beige color and the smaller rectangular panels were covered with black fabric. Both the colors complimented each other and created a perfect contrast in the Home Theater. As the speakers were wall mounted, no gap was required between the walls and the channels. This 6 Layer Acoustic Treatment process helped us in achieving an NRC of 0.95. With good amount of Spot lights and Ambient lighting, the design of the Home theater and colors of the fabric portrayed an excellent Theatrical outlook. Thus, giving importance to both Acoustic Treatment and Aesthetics.
